Canneto di Luce

The installation gives two different visual impressions. During the day a series of vertical colors strokes gives vivacity to the extensive space of "Porta Castello". The corrugated plastic pipes, with different heights and color, produce light movements determined by the wind, reinterpreting the idea of ​​a rushes.

The night enlightenment on the inside of plastic tubes, changing its intensity in a series of melodies determined by the flow of traffic and pedestrians, inserts a rhythmic multicromia of lights that underline the birth of new public space.

The interaction with the patrons of the place, is ensured by the electronic sensors that pick up the flows of movement and through an electronic control unit specially programmed determined the interpretation of different musical compositions according to the intensity of surrounding noise, creating a symphony of dynamic light whose sequences are reflection of the life of the city.

AreaOdeon through competition for young musicians, has selected the new music that throughout 2010 had light up the urban art interactive installation "Canneto di Luce" of Piazza Castello in Monza.
